3rd Class Engineer – CBRE Government & Defense Services
The 3rd Class Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance of facility systems such as heating, cooling, refrigeration, steam, water, and electrical equipment. The role includes interpreting system readings, performing repairs, maintaining logs, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, and occasionally leading other workers. A DC 3rd Class Engineer License or higher is required, and the individual must be able to work nights and weekends.
Primary Job Functions
- Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all assigned plant equipment during the assigned watch.
- Operate and maintain systems providing heat, air‑conditioning (cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, filtering, circulating air), refrigeration, steam, water, or electricity.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment as defined in the contract or Statement of Work.
- Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts to monitor system performance.
