Overview
Route Trainee is a customer-focused role supporting the Sales Department by helping Route Sales Representatives with loading and unloading trucks, delivering and picking up products, maintaining vehicle safety, and covering assigned routes when needed. When covering routes, the individual will drive a company vehicle to and from customer stops along an assigned route. Routes are serviced early morning and daytime hours Monday through Friday, because in the Inderbitzin culture, we believe nights and weekends should be reserved for personal and family time.

This position is ideal for individuals who prefer their workday to be varied, enjoy staying physically active, and want to gain experience in customer service and sales with the potential to move into a commissioned Route Sales Representative position after satisfactory performance and tenure. - Serve customers professionally using effective communication and resolve customer issues
- Ensure accurate invoice inventories
- Perform inventory audits
- Merchandise store displays to ensure proper inventory, pricing, and date code rotation
- Comply with customers’ scheduled receiving hours and policies
- Build in-store displays
- Keep all company-supplied equipment clean and serviced, including company-owned trucks, warehouse, and related facilities
- Complete required reports and paperwork
- Maintain route vehicle reports, safety inspections, and general appearance
- High school diploma or GED; some college is a plus
- 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Must meet pre-employment drug screening requirements
- Clean driving record
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Communication and language skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Prior customer service, route sales, delivery, and/or entrepreneurial experience preferred
- Training Pay (6+ weeks): $23.00 per hour + overtime at 1½x for hours over 40 in a workweek.
- Pay After Training: Hourly rate $24.00 + overtime at 1½x for hours over 40 in a workweek.
Safety-Sensitive Position. Applicants must undergo drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing protocols.
