Yard Jockey – Puyallup, WA

Floor & Decor is hiring a Yard Jockey to coordinate the daily movement of inbound containers and outbound trailers using a yard jockey vehicle.

$24.00 – $31.75 per hour.

• 1–2 years of relevant experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer‑service and organizational skills
• Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred but not required

• Organize and prioritize trailer placement in collaboration with outbound and inbound coordinators
• Position equipment at the corresponding doors,+# use chocks, and set trailer jacks
• Inspect containers for damage or unsafe alterations and report findings to management
• Pull equipment from the door after clearance, close the doors, and ensure the seal is properly attached
• Move equipment to a designated staging area and stack containers back‑to‑back for increased security
• Instruct drivers on safety procedures as outlined by the Logistics Manager
• Work to improve processes and procedures for safety, effectiveness, and efficiency
• Observe, audit, and comply with OSHA, CTPAT/FTZ, fire, and preventive‑safety requirements
• Perform daily inspection of the jockey truck noting any maintenance issues to management
• Maintain cleanliness of the outdoor yard area by routinely removing trash and debris

• Hourly position, with potential overtime beyond Canary 40 hours per week
• Frequent exposure to warehouse environment, moving vehicles, and outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow); noise level typically moderate to loud

Ability to exert 50–70 pounds of force occasionally; may involve sitting, walking, or standing for brief periods.
