Description

Bright View’s Business Developer (BD) works to improve market position, achieve profitable growth, and support strategic goals by building key customer relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and maintaining market knowledge. The BD manages the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing, and is responsible for full‑cycle landscape and, depending on region, snow sales. The BD collaborates with operations, finance, marketing and others to respond to bids and meet sales targets.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Work with prospective customers to discover pain points and develop solutions.
  • Accurately forecast sales deliverables and KPIs.
  • Achieve sales goals and work independently.
  • Perform sales prospecting using consultative techniques, marketing and pricing.
  • Prepare and conduct phone prospecting, sales presentations, virtual demos, and handle contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
  • Identify customer needs and use solution‑based selling to demonstrate the value of Bright View services.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients.
  • Build trust‑based relationships with key decision makers.
  • Plan daily activities, hit benchmarks, and close business.
  • Log activity consistently in Salesforce.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment with high urgency.
  • Communicate proactively with all decision makers and influencers.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3‑5 years of mid‑to‑senior B2B selling experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a large territory.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a CRM or SFA tool.
  • Proven track record of sales goal attainment and pipeline management.
  • Highly competitive, positive, and results driven.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Local knowledge and contacts preferred.
  • Self‑motivated and self‑directed.
  • Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales desirable.
Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Operate computer and office equipment such as laptop, cell phone, sales programs/tools.
  • Combination of mobile and sedentary work; stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent work away from company locations selling and obtaining contracts.
  • Travel by car, train, plane.
  • Traverse uneven grounds and walk on job sites for up to 4 hours.
Work Environment
  • Works indoors and outdoors.
  • Field‑based: office and customer‑facing.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $80,168.40–$90,000. Bright View offers health, wellness, and financial benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, ancillary and voluntary products, 401(k) with employer contributions, paid holidays, PTO, tuition reimbursement, variable pay based on performance.
