Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Puyallup, WA (12-hr Nights)
Travel Labor & Delivery RN opportunity in Puyallup, WA (98372) at a Level III Trauma Center with a busy Birth Center. 14-week travel nursing assignment starting April 6, 2026. Must have an active RN license, 1+ year recent L&D experience, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification.

- Facility: Level III Trauma Center with Birth Center
- Assignment Type: Travel assignment (travel nursing)
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 11, 2026
- Duration: 14 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Expectations: One major, one minor
- Scrubs: Provided
- Parking: Free
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2400-$2530/week
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be valid for assignment state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) clinical experience
- BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- Fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or approved Relias module)
- Strong clinical skills: cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnio infusion, epidural/analgesia support, fetal heart monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin administration
- Postpartum and couplet care experience, including basic breastfeeding support and newborn care
- Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing and HUGS Security system preferred
- Comfortable floating between Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units as needed
- EPIC Stork and GE Centricity EMR experience preferred (electronic medical record / EMR experience)
- First-time travel nurses are welcome — travel nursing support provided
- Provide comprehensive obstetrics and maternity nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in a busy Birth Center
- Monitor and assess maternal and newborn status, perform fetal monitoring and interpret tracings, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including Pitocin and magnesium sulfate as indicated
- Perform cervical exams and assist with labor progression management, amnio infusion, and epidural support
- Support, educate, and coach mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including OB/GYNs, midwives, hospitalists, and NICU staff to coordinate safe care
- Document clinical care accurately using EPIC Stork and other EMR systems
- Participate in core competencies, annual training, and ongoing professional development in maternity nursing and fetal monitoring
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and family-centered environment for patients and their families
- Work in a Level III Trauma Center and high-volume Birth Center — excellent experience for L&D RNs and OB nurses
- Exposure to diverse patient population and a full scope of maternal-fetal care
