DescriptionDistribution Dock Lead (DDL) provides first line leadership for a team of distribution employees. This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day warehouse department activities within assigned area(s) such as unloading, picking/putaway, loading, storage, etc. Assigns work to distribution associates and ensures productivity, accuracy, excellent customer service, safe work environment and efficient operations; and trains associates as necessary. Will partner with facility leadership working on a personal development plan to develop leadership skill and support the task assigned to the Distribution Operations Manager.
Responsible to back up for Ops manager when needed.
- Supports Distribution Operations Manager in the execution of SQDC targets.
- Adjusts and monitors continuously the trailer/product flow to assure efficiency.
- Defines priorities in the case of bottlenecks and develops alternatives.
- Monitors and ensures compliance of the work safety guidelines.
- Drives continuous improvement through implementation of Lean principles and owns facility 5S.
- Partner with Distribution Operations Manager on maintaining Facility Leadership Boards and other activities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organization, prioritization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and have good follow-through to meet deadlines.
- Must have good leadership and training skills; ability to work with all levels of management and dock associates.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs.
- Extremely heavy lifting throughout entire shift up to 100 pounds, able to work in trailer on deck.
