Summary Description

The Billing Clerk prepares and processes all documentation used for customer billing received from the shipping department, including customs.

Essential Duties:
  • Allocates orders and ensures shipping paperwork is accurate before invoicing orders in multiple systems.
  • Processes shipping documentation within the computer systems on the day of shipment.
  • Prepares Bill of Lading when needed, posts weight and shipping charges.
  • Prepares customs documents and files via electronic export processing as needed.
  • Work with accounts payable to ensure billing from carriers is accurate.
  • Enters data/information into the computer.
  • Organizes and files all shipping documents.
  • Updates shipping dates in the system for past due orders.
  • Use MS Excel create spreadsheets as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Skills and Experience

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in accounting, data entry, or processing billing in an office environment
  • Proficiency using a PC and MS Offices software
  • Proficient e-mail and written correspondence
  • Prior office experience in manufacturing and/or warehousing preferred but not required
Knowledge: Knowledge of basic billing principles, knowledge of Frontier ERP, or LFS WMS.

Skill: Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency using a PC and MS Office software, strong basic math skills, strong organizational skills

Ability: to enter data accurately and quickly, organize and prioritize to meet objectives, multi-task and meet deadlines, efficiently network and coordinate work with customers and suppliers, manage time effectively to meet targets and deadlines

Physical Requirements:
  • Walk and stand
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and crouch on occasion
  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
