Overview
Assistant Coach for Softball at Putnam High School for the Girls' Softball program for the upcoming spring season in the school year. We are looking for a passionate individual who can help foster skill development, promote teamwork, and support our student-athletes' growth both on and off the field. Become an integral part of our dynamic and evolving high school athletic program.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Support Head Coach:
Assist the Head Coach with planning, organizing, and executing practices and games. - Player Development:
Improve student-athletes fundamental softball skills (hitting, fielding, pitching, catching), tactical understanding, and physical conditioning. - Logistics & Supervision:
Help with practice/game setup and breakdown, and directly supervise student-athletes during all team activities, ensuring safety and policy adherence. - Team Environment:
Contribute to a positive, disciplined, and sportsmanlike team culture. - Communication:
Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, players, parents, and athletic staff. - Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all school, district, ECC, and CIAC rules and regulations. - Role Modeling:
Serve as a positive role model, promoting academic integrity, sportsmanship, and responsibility. - Administrative Tasks:
Assist with inventory, equipment management, and other administrative duties as needed. - Off-Season Support:
Support organized off-season training, conditioning, and summer league activities as directed by the Head Coach.
- CT Certification 600:
Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required - First Aid/CPR Certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Preferably, demonstrated expertise in a specific area (e.g., pitching, hitting instruction, base running).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
$3,836 for the School Year
