Position: Constant Attendant, Per Diem, All Shifts Available, Patient Staffing

Overview

Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Constant Attendant for the Patient Staffing Department as a per diem role, with all shifts available, in Putnam, CT.

Constant Attendant Summary

As the Constant Attendant, you will be a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for care and observation of patients. The position has two distinct types of observation:

  • As a CA, the observation of patients is less strict and could involve observing more than one patient.
  • As a 1:1, this type of observation is strict and requires remaining with the patient at all times at arm’s length. Patients on 1:1 observation are on suicide precautions or restrained for behavioral management.

The expectation is to work 4 shifts per month.

Job Responsibilities
  • Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
  • Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
  • Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
1:1

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain direct 1:1 constant observation.
  • Keep the patient within an arm’s length at all times, even when the patient is bathing or toileting.
  • Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
  • Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
  • Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Meets the physical demands of the position.
  • Demonstrates ability to cope with and function under stress.
  • Trained in non-violent crisis intervention.
