Executive Search Consultant – Banking & Finance

Centreville Bank ($3B) in West Warwick, RI is hunting an ambitious Business Banker to serve the business communities throughout Eastern CT.

Title: Business Banker (Officer title: AVP / VP / SVP based on experience)

Division: Commercial Banking

Compensation: $150K–$175K base + aggressive incentive up to 45% of base

Perks: Sign‑on bonus possible + potential vehicle stipend

Flexibility: Up to 2 days remote

Territory: Eastern CT (West Warwick, RI meeting every other week)

What You’ll Own
  • Primary relationship lead for a portfolio of small‑to‑medium sized businesses
  • Deliver a full suite of lending, core banking and cash management solutions (integrated advisory approach)
  • Inherit a healthy portfolio and handle inbound small business inquiries from 7 CT branches
  • Build COIs and local visibility (ideal if you bring a network, but not required)
  • Run a real pipeline: prospecting, planning, tracking activity, and growing revenue/profitability/retention
  • Partner closely with internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience (no “handoff and hope”)

Credit + Execution Support

Centreville has a structured credit team (analysts/PMs) and a collaborative lending/credit relationship. Lenders drive the relationship and deal flow and credit supports underwriting with a clear, efficient process.

Position Purpose

Identify, develop and maintain a portfolio of small to medium sized business relationships within the CT and RI markets. Utilize objective and sound personal financial planning and financial advisory concepts to provide an integrated delivery of a broad range of small business products and services including core banking solutions and cash management services to all appropriate customers.

Position Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, integration and responsibility for both new and existing small business banking customers. Sell, deliver and provide ongoing service to a broad range of retail banking products and services appropriate to small business customers. Responsible for delivering a level of personalized, attentive service that customers deem outstanding.
  • Establish and periodically update understanding of customer financial needs and conditions based upon sound profiling and analysis.
  • Keep abreast of changing economic, legal and general market and business issues impacting small businesses. Serve as an experienced, personal financial resource for customers.
  • Meet revenue growth, profitability and retention goals by developing new customer relationships, expanding services, and marketing new products to existing customers. Monitor, maintain and update sales activity, pipeline and other pertinent information.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with various Bank departments and employees who are designated to support small business growth and development efforts. Ensure an integrated and seamless approach to developing, servicing and enhancing the small business customer portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with external centers of influence who will enhance business development efforts.
  • Work within existing audit, compliance and regulatory framework in order to ensure a high quality, compliant portfolio of customer relationships.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required; 5–10 years of banking experience and proven leadership capabilities in a small business banking environment.
  • Ability to travel regularly between Rhode Island and Eastern Connecticut markets.
  • Demonstrated relationship management experience.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to plan, pipeline and prospect potential customers; setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate; develop effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
