Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment/machinery/ to ensure their optimal functioning and longevity. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Job Classification: Full-time non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Location: Punta Gorda, FL

Pay Range: $20 to $25

Responsibilities:
  • Basic Maintenance
    :
    Changing oil and filters, rotating tires, checking fluid levels, and performing other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting with Repairs
    :
    Helping mechanics with diagnostic work, replacing parts, and performing repairs under supervision.
  • Shop Maintenance
    :
    Cleaning and organizing the work area, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Parts Management
    :
    Assisting with inventory, ordering parts, and managing supplies.
  • Record Keeping
    :
    Documenting repair work and maintaining records.
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment/machinery to identify potential issues or maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brakes and tires changes, replacing worn parts, and cleaning equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems and perform repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from other departments and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
  • Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Experience as a Mechanic's Assistant preferred
  • Understanding basic vehicle systems and components is beneficial
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects and working in various physical positions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with mechanics and other team members
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced mechanics and follow instructions
  • Team-oriented mentality
  • Excellent learning capabilities to learn new skills as necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record will be required.
  • Must be able to clear background, 5-panel drug test & a breath alcohol test
