AM Testing & Services is excited to announce an immediate opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist at our laboratory facility in Punta Gorda, Florida
. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow with a fast‑paced, quality‑driven testing laboratory.
Pay: competitive, negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and calibrate a wide range of analytical instrumentation, including:
- ICP/OES, ICP/MS
- HPLC/MSMS
- GC/MS
- UV/VIS Spectrophotometry
- Perform sample preparation, extraction, digestion, and analysis on both routine and complex matrices.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instrumentation operation.
- Review and validate analytical results for accuracy and compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Support and advise clients and customer service teams with technical information and analytical results.
- Assist in maintaining and advancing our laboratory’s ISO 17025 accreditation through A2LA.
- Work collaboratively within a small, fast‑paced team environment with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
- Contribute to expanding the laboratory’s scope by introducing new analytical methods and technologies.
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred
- 2–5 years of hands‑on laboratory experience is required
- Strong working knowledge and experience with at least some of the following instrumentation:
- ICP/OES, ICP/MS
- GC/MS, HPLC/MSMS
- UV/VIS
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality control
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 and A2LA quality systems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team‑oriented lab setting
- Experience using instrument‑specific software such as:
- Agilent Chem Station and Mass Hunter
- Perkin Elmer Win Lab, Syngistix, and Spectrum
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience introducing new testing methodologies or expanding lab capabilities
