AM Testing & Services is excited to announce an immediate opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist at our laboratory facility in Punta Gorda, Florida
. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow with a fast‑paced, quality‑driven testing laboratory.

Pay: competitive, negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate a wide range of analytical instrumentation, including:
    • ICP/OES, ICP/MS
    • HPLC/MSMS
    • GC/MS
    • UV/VIS Spectrophotometry
  • Perform sample preparation, extraction, digestion, and analysis on both routine and complex matrices.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instrumentation operation.
  • Review and validate analytical results for accuracy and compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Support and advise clients and customer service teams with technical information and analytical results.
  • Assist in maintaining and advancing our laboratory’s ISO 17025 accreditation through A2LA.
  • Work collaboratively within a small, fast‑paced team environment with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Contribute to expanding the laboratory’s scope by introducing new analytical methods and technologies.
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred
  • 2–5 years of hands‑on laboratory experience is required
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with at least some of the following instrumentation:
    • ICP/OES, ICP/MS
    • GC/MS, HPLC/MSMS
    • UV/VIS
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality control
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and A2LA quality systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team‑oriented lab setting
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using instrument‑specific software such as:
    • Agilent Chem Station and Mass Hunter
    • Perkin Elmer Win Lab, Syngistix, and Spectrum
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience introducing new testing methodologies or expanding lab capabilities
