Job Description
Based in India, this role supports end-to-end transportation operations for inbound, outbound, and drop shipments across regions. The Transportation Analyst is responsible for shipment planning and execution, freight forwarder coordination, SAP execution, documentation accuracy, cost control, and proactive risk management to ensure on-time, compliant, and cost-effective logistics operations. The role works closely with suppliers, 3PL partners, freight forwarders, Buyers, DSR teams, warehouses, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Freight Quotation & Planning
Obtain and manage monthly freight quotations across all transportation modes, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with contracted terms.
Assign freight forwarders per PO using the Logistics Power App based on cost, transit time, routing, service level, and business priority.
Plan and schedule inbound, outbound, and drop shipments in line with CRD, customer priorities, and SLA commitments.
Shipment Execution & Coordination
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL partners to ensure shipment readiness, space allocation, and on-time dispatch.
Manage space release, ETD confirmations, and schedule rollovers between vendors, forwarders, and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely communication of changes.
Shipment Monitoring & Cost Control
Monitor shipment execution end-to-end against CRD, ETD, ETA, and customer SLAs, proactively escalating risks and delays.
Track, control, and reduce demurrage, detention, and storage costs through preventive planning and timely corrective actions.
Reporting, Performance & Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain freight reporting and KPIs covering OTIF, transit time adherence, cost per shipment, and forwarder performance.
Drive freight forwarder performance improvement through regular reviews, scorecards, and service-level governance.
Support automation and system integration initiatives to enable seamless data flow from freight forwarders and carriers into Medline systems, improving visibility, accuracy, and efficiency.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
