Applications are invited for the Project Associate

I at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune.

The Incumbent Would Have To

Write programs for the interactions of biomolecules at the level of network dynamics for Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Present results to the team and at a wider network level and work towards bringing it to some form of public dissemination.
Interact with other researchers in the network structural biology, implementing algorithms, setting up and maintaining databases and web servers.
Handle a small component of systems administration.

Duration

Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Money

Rs.25,000/- 24 PERCENT House Rent Allowance
Rs.31,000/- 24 PERCENT House Rent Allowance with valid CSIR-NET GATE / DBT JRF/ any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies OR equivalent scorecard.

Qualification

M.Sc. / BS-MS / B.E. /

B.Tech. / M.C.A. in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology / Systems Biology / Computational Biology / Bioengineering / Biophysics / Mathematical Biology with a minimum 60 PERCENT marks or equivalent grade.

Experience

Preference:  Candidates with programming skills in Python / MATLAB and experience of modelling signalling networks, cellular biophysics. Candidate must have taken a course in quantitative biology / biomathematics. Those awarded national research fellowship (CSIR-JRF/SRF, DBT-JRF/SRF, BINC, UGC-JRF or equivalent) and having published a primary research paper in a peer-reviewed international journal will be preferred.
