Job Summary
The Director of Quality Assurance (Software) is a senior executive leader responsible for defining, governing, and advancing the organization's enterprise software quality strategy. With 20+ years of experience , this role provides strategic oversight across quality engineering, test automation, API testing, compliance, and continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable software products.
Experience in the automotive software domain (e.g., embedded systems, connected vehicles, infotainment, ADAS, AUTOSAR, or mobility platforms) is considered a strong plus .
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Quality Strategy & Governance
Define and own the long-term enterprise software quality vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Establish and govern quality management systems, standards, and policies across enterprise and product platforms.
Software Quality Assurance & Automation
Provide executive oversight of all testing activities including functional, regression, integration, system, performance, security, and User Acceptance testing
Contribute to enterprise test automation strategy,
Ensure automated test suites are scalable, maintainable, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Promote shift-left and quality engineering practices across Agile and Dev Ops teams.
Test Planning & Test Case Governance
Define enterprise-level test planning frameworks for Semiconductor, Automotive API.
Ensure test plans include scope, objectives, environments, entry/exit criteria, dependencies, and risk assessments.
Establish standards for test case and API test design ensuring traceability, reusability, and automation readiness.
Review release readiness and provide quality sign-off for major product releases.
Validate data integrity, interoperability, and backward compatibility across systems.
Exposure with Cybersecurity is plus.
Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Oversight
Automotive domain exposure may include compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO 9001 or related standards.
Lead audit readiness, regulatory inspections, and quality risk mitigation initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defect leakage and improve automation ROI.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) programs HARA/TARA.
Champion modern testing approaches, including automation optimization and API-driven testing.
Customer Experience & Product Excellence
Monitor customer feedback, production incidents, and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Ensure customer-centric quality outcomes such as reliability, usability, performance, and safety.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and develop senior QA leaders, automation architects, and global QA teams.
