Role Overview
Apexon is seeking a Senior UX/UI Design System Expert to lead the creation, evolution, and governance of enterprise-grade design systems for global client engagements, including Fortune 500 organizations.
This role requires deep expertise in Figma, design tokens, UI libraries, and design-to-development workflows, along with strong leadership and collaboration skills. You will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, accessible, and high-performing design systems that drive consistency and efficiency across platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design system strategy, ownership, and governance across enterprise and SaaS applications
Build, maintain, and continuously optimize scalable design systems ensuring consistency, usability, and performance
Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to solve complex user experience challenges
Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting delivery timelines and quality benchmarks
Partner closely with developers to enable seamless design-to-code workflows using tools such as Storybook, Zeplin, Git Hub, etc.
Establish and manage UI tokens, component libraries, variables, and advanced prototyping in Figma
Drive adoption of the design system across teams through enablement, documentation, and best practices
Lead design audits and optimize libraries to future-proof systems for enterprise scalability
Mentor designers and guide teams on motion design, micro-interactions, and modern UI patterns
Create and maintain clear, accessible design system documentation for designers and developers
Proactively identify risks, blockers, and improvement opportunities, driving solutions independently
Ensure alignment with accessibility (ADA/WCAG) standards and platform constraints

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
8+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design with strong ownership of design systems
Proven experience building and managing enterprise or SaaS design systems for web and native mobile platforms
Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, variables, UI tokens, libraries, prototyping)
Strong understanding of design principles: typography, grids, hierarchy, color, composition
Hands-on experience with responsive, desktop, and mobile interface design
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional collaboration
Ability to create future-ready UI/UX designs with seamless user flows, interactivity, and motion
Experience managing contributions from designers and engineers to meet roadmaps and deadlines
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Design, Digital Media, HCI, or a related field

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with CSS frameworks or design tokens (Tailwind, Bootstrap, etc.)
Exposure to design system ROI analysis and scalability optimisation
Knowledge of accessibility standards and enterprise UX challenges
Experience working directly with global or customer-facing stakeholders
Familiarity with generative design concepts and emerging UX trends
