About Avasara Academy
Avasara Academy is a non-profit residential secondary school for girls in Pune. We focus on girls from low-income backgrounds who show high potential. At Avasara, students experience a rigorous academic curriculum coupled with a strong emphasis on leadership that will empower them to lead lives of distinction and impact. Not only do we seek to develop the next generation of women leaders, but we also wish to create a model school that couples the best of global and Indian pedagogy.
Avasara currently has a student body of 370 students between 6th and 12th standards. .
Residential Life at Avasara Academy
Our Residential Life Program promotes community and student development by creating an environment that enriches the overall experience of students. Working with the broader faculty and student-residents, residential life activities and services are developed and implemented with an emphasis on holistic individual and community development, student leadership, and individual responsibility. Our hope is that students who participate in the Residential Life program become actively involved in the community;
have an increasing awareness and appreciation of human diversity; and develop life skills and healthy lifestyle practices that contribute to the pursuit of academic, personal, and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively support a healthy residential community that meets students' academic and non-academic needs.
Orient and communicate with students and parents about residential life.
Ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day activities.
Handle situations of emergency as and when these arise.
Coordinate all logistics related to activities and life in the hostel.
Monitor and maintain a safe and hygienic hostel facility.
Ensure that disciplinary guidelines are communicated and are fairly and consistently applied.
Schedule, facilitate and lead activities for students.
Create, maintain, and update all forms, and documents related to residential life laborate with the Faculty and School Counselor to support students' needs.
Contribute to setting program goals and to the development of policies and procedures for the residential life program.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working directly with adolescents ages 11-18
Previous experience working with adolescents females
You have strong interpersonal skills.
You think creatively to identify solutions.
You are highly motivated.
You believe in the mission and vision of Avasara Academy and the positive impact living on campus can have on students.
You have prior experience working with a diverse student population in an academic setting.
You have working knowledge of English.
You have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
