Role: BAMS Medical Officer (PGDEMS) — Emergency Medicine (On‑site, Talegaon, Pune)
We are seeking a skilled BAMS Medical Officer with a Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medicine & Services (PGDEMS) to join the emergency department of a busy multi‑speciality hospital in Talegaon, Pune. The role requires on‑site, shift‑based clinical coverage, decisive acute care skills, and close coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, timely patient care.
Role & Responsibilities
Provide rapid assessment, triage, stabilization and initial management of acute medical, surgical and trauma cases within scope of practice and hospital protocols.
Perform emergency procedures including airway management, IV access, wound suturing, splinting and basic procedural interventions as required.
Interpret ECGs, request and review urgent diagnostic tests, initiate evidence‑based treatments and make timely referrals to specialty teams.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and structured handovers using the hospital EMR; ensure compliance with medico‑legal and recordkeeping standards.
Coordinate care with on‑site specialists (medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics) to optimize patient flow and outcomes.
Participate in shift rotas, on‑call duties, emergency drills, quality‑improvement initiatives and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
Must‑Have
BAMS degree with current registration in the relevant State Ayurvedic Council.
Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medicine & Services (PGDEMS).
Proven competence in triage, emergency resuscitation and airway management within a hospital ED setting.
Ability to interpret ECGs and make urgent diagnostic and treatment decisions.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and working with hospital EMR systems.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and provide on‑site coverage at Talegaon, Pune (Maharashtra).
Preferred
Certifications such as ACLS and trauma‑care training (e.g., ATLS/BLS) are advantageous.
Prior experience in a high‑volume multi‑speciality hospital emergency department.
Familiarity with hospital quality assurance, infection control and emergency workflow optimisation.
