Join Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) as a
** Lead Fault Analysis Engineer
** and help shape the future of power system event analysis. The Synchrowave software team builds advanced tools that engineers around the world rely on to understand, diagnose, and improve power system performance.
** In this role, a typical day might include:
*** Leading the specification, design, implementation and testing of fault analysis tools for electric power systems.
* Analyzing power system fault and power quality data collected from protective relays, DFRs, meters, and other sensors.
* Teaching customers how to implement, deploy and use fault analysis tools.
* Collaborating with engineers around the world to share knowledge, best practices and gather feedback.
* Authoring and reviewing white papers, application guides, industry journals, and technical papers and presenting at conferences & seminars.

** We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and abilities:
*** A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* 6+ years of experience with power system protection, fault analysis and fault location.
* Work experience and knowledge of utility and/or industrial power systems with an emphasis on protection, fault analysis and power quality analysis.
* Experience working with Synchrowave software and SEL products.
* Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
* The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
* The ability to travel 20%.

** Pay Range Data:
Lead Engineer $115,300 - $170,400 annually.
*** We are open to candidates with more experience and the salary range may differ if filled at Development Lead or Senior Engineer level.
* Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
