The Opportunity:
The Honors College at Washington State University invites applications for a Scholarly Assistant/Associate Professor, Career track faculty position in Pullman, WA, all specialties will be considered. This position is a fixed-term, nine-month, three-year appointment with possibility of renewal. We seek applicants who are strongly committed to quality undergraduate education.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 1, 2026
The successful candidate will be expected to teach three Honors courses per semester and direct the Honors First Year Student Experience courses (peer mentoring). The successful candidate is also expected to collaborate with Honors College faculty, mentor undergraduate students, and participate in appropriate levels of service to the college, university, and community.
Job Duties:
- Teaching - 80%
- Service - 10%
- Research - 10%
Monthly Salary:
Assistant Professor: $45,000 - $55,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Associate Professor: $50,000 - $60,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.

Required Qualifications for all Ranks:
- Earned a terminal degree in field of study, by time of appointment.
- Proven or potential for successful teaching and instruction
- Three (3) or more years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience teaching high achieving students
- Involvement with undergraduate research as a mentor/coordinator/supervisor (e.g., honors thesis, scholarship program)
- Innovative teaching methods
- Experience/interest in course development

This position will serve on the Pullman campus, which has an enrollment of around 20,000 students and is located in Southeastern Washington on the homelands of the Nimíipuu (Nez Perce) Tribe and Palus people.
