OpportunityThe Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University invites applications for this position. Candidates should describe their research and teaching interests. Preference is given to individuals with expertise in teaching research methods and/or quantitative data analysis.
Job Duties- Conduct research and teaching in criminal justice and criminology.
- Teach undergraduate introductory and upper‑division courses, graduate level courses, and possibly online undergraduate classes.
- Fulfill a teaching load of two courses per semester (40%), research and scholarly publication (40%) and service (20%).
Annual salary: $82,000 – $87,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications). The full salary range is provided by RCW 49.58.110 and placement is based on experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Benefits include paid sick leave, paid holidays, medical, dental, life and disability insurance for employees and dependents, retirement, deferred compensation, and optional supplemental retirement accounts.
Required Qualifications- Completed Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related discipline by the time of appointment; a J.D. alone is not sufficient.
- Demonstrated record of, or potential for, research/scholarship in gender‑based violence, criminal justice, and criminology.
- Demonstrated record of, or potential for, successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Demonstrated record of supporting, or potential to support, access and opportunity in research, teaching, and service in alignment with WSU’s land‑grant mission.
- Interest and expertise in teaching research methods and/or quantitative data analysis.
