The Village Companies - Shared Services
The Shared Services teams support all companies across The Village organization by providing essential business functions including HR, Finance, IT, Maintenance, and Finished Goods Warehouse operations. Serving as the backbone of the organization, these teams partner closely with every division to streamline processes, enhance communication, and help each business succeed. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, processing, and monitoring outgoing shipments to ensure accurate, timely delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to support efficient logistics operations and maintain inventory integrity.
Hours & Pay
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay Range: $20-$25/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Plan and manage logistics to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Prepare, review, and process shipment documentation, including invoices and shipping paperwork
- Verify order accuracy prior to shipment to ensure quality and completeness
- Track shipments and maintain accurate status updates within company systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping claims in collaboration with affected brands
- Document, report, and follow up on inventory damage or discrepancies
- Purchase, monitor, and maintain shipping supplies as needed
- Receive materials and coordinate transfers between departments
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) as required
- Provide backup support within the department and assist the FGW Leader with additional tasks as assigned
- 75% Office environment
- 25% Manufacturing environment (clean, low to moderate noise; PPE such as safety glasses required)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role is preferred
- Knowledge of logistics or shipping software is a plus
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or similar)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management and ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment
- Occasional travel between sister company locations
