A Purchasing Assistant supports the Purchasing Manager with day‑to‑day procurement, supplier coordination, inventory tracking, and receiving activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures materials, components, and shop supplies are ordered, received, and tracked accurately in the Foundry ERP system.
Key Responsibilities- Send RFQs, evaluate pricing and delivery, and place purchase orders
- Order shop stock and consumables used in production
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) from Engineering
- Enter purchase requests in the Foundry ERP system
- Receive and verify goods in Foundry
- Coordinate deliveries with internal teams
- Follow up with suppliers on open orders and quality issues
- Maintain purchasing records and shipment documentation
Support logistics coordination and waste removal scheduling
- Purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience preferred
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
- ERP system experience (Foundry or similar)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read BOMs and engineering documentation
