Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Medical Assistant in Pueblo. Salary Range: $18.00‑$24.00 per hour. • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician and verify presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Assist with delegated patient education, including distributing education literature. Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions. Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including hormones and biological growth factors.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Process instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phoned prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
