Summary Of Job Classification

The Competency Court Coordinator oversees the administrative functions and procedural workflow of the competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs. This role involves managing data entry, coordinating referrals, evaluations, and facilitating communication among stakeholders involved in competency court cases and those being diverted from the competency continuum. May supervise 1 or more full-time employees.

Additional Comments

Interviews will be held on Friday, January 30th. If you are advanced, 2nd interviews will be held Wednesday, February 4th. Start date will be Monday, March 2nd with full day training on March 4th & 5th expected.

This recruitment is eligible for a referral award as allowed by the Colorado Judicial System Personnel Rules.

Essential Functions
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function listed below satisfactorily.   • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings in conjunction with competency court dockets, competency diversion, and/or competency programs prior to and/or after court sessions, acting as the project leader to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Lead and manage data collection, policy development, and accurate record-keeping for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, ensuring compliance through the DIMS system.
  • Manage and coordinate local steering committees, including facilitating effective communication among service providers for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, and demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Inform the court and relevant parties of whether participant meets the minimum qualifications for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs.
  • Collaborate with the State Court Administrator’s Office to conduct program evaluations, make necessary adjustments to the program, provide training, and ensure overall success for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs.
  • Write and manage grants and related budgets to support resources for clients and the courts as needed.
  • Coordinate memorandum of understanding (MOUs), policies, and procedures related to competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, ensuring alignment and effective service delivery.
  • Conduct and participate in training for stakeholder groups, including Judicial personnel, service providers, and community partners, to ensure proper understanding and implementation of competency court, competency diversion, and related competency programs, showcasing leadership capabilities.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
