Role Overview

The Financial Analyst supports RAE Corporation’s financial planning, reporting, and decision-making processes by analyzing financial data, monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts, and providing actionable insights to leadership. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to improve cost control, profitability, and overall financial performance across the organization.

  • Core IFS & Financial System Functions
  • Use IFS Applications to extract, analyze, and validate financial and operational data related to manufacturing, inventory, labor, and overhead.
  • Maintain accuracy of financial data within IFS, including cost elements, work centers, routings, bills of material (BOMs), and inventory valuation.
  • Partner with Accounting and Operations to ensure transactions are properly recorded and aligned with financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop standard and ad hoc financial reports from IFS to support leadership decision-making.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies within IFS related to costs, variances, or reporting inconsistencies.
  • Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Analysis
  • Analyze manufacturing costs using IFS, including material, labor, overhead, scrap, and rework.
  • Monitor and explain cost variances (standard vs. actual) and communicate drivers to Finance and Operations leadership.
  • Support updates to standard costs and participate in annual or periodic cost roll-ups within IFS.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of production changes, process improvements, or volume shifts.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts using IFS data and historical trends.
  • Track actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models and scenario analyses to support operational and strategic planning.
  • Support long-range planning by analyzing trends in throughput, labor efficiency, and material costs.
  • Operational & Business Partnering Support
  • Serve as a financial business partner to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain leaders.
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Support business cases for capital expenditures, tooling, or process improvements.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings to provide financial perspective and support decision‑making.
  • Support internal controls related to financial data integrity and system accuracy within IFS.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, data accuracy, and system usage.
  • Document reporting processes, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure consistency.
  • Assist with audits by providing data, analysis, and explanations as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.
  • Experience working within IFS Applications or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis tools).
  • Experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools to build dashboards and interactive reports.
