Job Description Management Accountant - Prudhoe Overview

We are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join our client based in Prudhoe. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering accurate financial insights, driving efficiency, and supporting decision-making across the business.

• £45,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
• 23 days annual leave

• Produce monthly management reporting, including profit and loss and balance sheet reviews, with supporting workings and reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end timetable, ensuring journals, accruals, and prepayments are processed accurately and within deadlines.
• Oversee balance sheet control accounts, carrying out regular reviews and resolving any variances or issues identified.
• Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, highlighting key trends and providing meaningful commentary.
• Work in partnership with budget holders and non-finance teams to provide clear financial insight, supporting cost management and informed decision‑making.
• Liaise with the wider finance function to ensure financial data is consistent, accurate, and aligned across the organisation.
• Assist with audit processes, preparing required documentation and responding to internal and external audit queries.

• Part or fully qualified in a relevant finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Strong organisational, administrative, and planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities, with the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Proficiency in IT and relevant financial software.
• Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
• A self‑motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable:
  Previous experience in the construction industry.
