Senior Accountant

Our client is looking to recruit an exciting newly created Senior Accountant to join a growing business based in the Prudhoe area. This is a key role within the finance team, offering variety, exposure and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

This is a commercially focused position with real ownership, supporting live projects and contracts delivered nationally. You'll work closely with operational and commercial teams, playing a key role in tracking performance, protecting margins and supporting decision-making.

Reporting directly to the Projects Finance Director, you will take ownership of the management accounts for a £50m business unit, alongside responsibility for project and contract financial control.

• Ownership of monthly management accounts, including analysis and commentary
• Project / contract accounting across live work: budgets, forecasts, margins, cash flow and performance tracking
• Partnering with project, operational and commercial teams to review costs, risks and profitability
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including cost-to-complete and scenario analysis
• Monitoring cash flow, accruals and balance sheet exposure on live projects
• Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the finance function

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified accountant
• Strong background in management accounts within a projects, contracts, engineering, construction or similar environment is desirable
• Commercially minded, with experience working closely with non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable in a hands‑on role with ownership and accountability
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence
