The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is a federal agency under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is hiring nationwide . Depending on the airport, TSOs are hired either directly by TSA or by a private screening company under TSA's Screening Partnership Program (SPP).

This is a non-armed, public-facing role focused on passenger screening, safety, and customer service at the checkpoint.
Starting salary ranges from $19.39 to $44.12/hour with an average pay of $65,341 per year with full benefits. Many locations also offer sign-on bonuses from $2,000 up to $30,000.

What does a TSO do day-to-day?
Screens passengers and baggage at airport security checkpoints. Duties include operating X-ray and detection equipment, checking IDs and boarding passes, conducting pat-downs and bag checks when required, and following security procedures to prevent prohibited items from entering the secure area.
