Overview

Performs a variety of food production duties under general supervision.

• Cook & Cashier Position
• Full Time, 38 hours per week
• Availability Needed:
  Sunday-Saturday for 8 hour shifts, variable shift assignments
• Shifts Within: 6am-7:30pm

• Operate cash registers and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems accurately
• Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods while providing correct change
• Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift
• Prepare and complete daily cash deposits according to department policies
• Accurately document cash handling and report discrepancies promptly
• Maintain strict cash accountability and confidentiality

• Greet customers professionally and provide courteous, efficient service
• Answer menu questions and accommodate special dietary requests when appropriate
• Support daily opening and closing procedures
• Assist with stocking, restocking, and maintaining a clean front‑of‑house area
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

• Prepare and cook food, serve customers, and complete other duties as assigned
• Follow recipes and/or instructions in the preparation of food items
• May prepare bulk food items, large‑scale production, line cook, or complete assembly of specialty meals and catered items
• Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
• Maintain proper quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product
• Interact with customers in any venue (catering, retail outlets, or patient care)
• May be required to deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, use automatic and manual ware‑washing machines

• Food Handler Permit or Serv Safe certification is required by first day of work
• One or more year of experience as a Cook preferred
• Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques in all applications
• Understands workflow, prioritizes, uses timelines, understands deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred)
• Understands and prepares food according to modified diets using appropriate techniques where applicable (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment (preferred)
• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
• Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
• Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy; includes frequent computer, phone, and cable setup and use
• Ability to lift and move items up to heavy weights; may work on hands and knees and bend to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
• Remain standing for long periods
• Tolerate temperature extremes (grill/refrigerator) and exposure to cleaning chemicals

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience: $18.84 - $24.50
