Router SummaryRouter Operators are responsible for making sure the specifics of a job that needs cutting on a large router are understood and followed prior to cutting printed work. Functions require fine cuts using large machinery. The finished product can be of varying size of shape. Functions require an eye for detail to ensure that finished print jobs are cut to specification.
The position is responsible for meeting quality standards for each job.
- Take printed stock and cut to the proper dimensions as called for on the production order
- Operate a large router to make details custom cuts for various types of printed stock
- Read work order and verify all fabrication, that needs to be accomplished before cutting, is completed
- Utilize forklift as needed
- Available for weekend work schedules and overtime
- Required to lift up to a minimum of 50lbs
- Required to follow safety instructions and adhere to safety procedures
- Machine operation experience preferred

Education and Experience- 6 months’ machine operating experience, preferred
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail
- Manage large workloads, and maintain high quality and accuracy of work
- Meet deadlines and mitigate disruptions to workflow
- Knowledgeable in basic math, fractions, and percentage
- Ability to pass a basic skills test
- Ability to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in English
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Available for weekend work shifts & overtime as required
- Safety conscious with ability to perform job functions in a safe manner
- Ability to work alone and under minimal supervision
- Ability to think outside the box when creative solutions are needed
- Work well on a team and contribute positively to GSP culture
- PC/Keyboard:
Position requires work on computers, using keyboards and viewing monitor - Standing:
Standing for entire assigned shift - Lifting:
Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (Includes upward pulling) of up to 50 lbs. - Carrying:
Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder - Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. - Feeling:
Ability to identify texture of material such as if lamination has been applied and being able to distinguish different gauges of material thickness - Talking:
Verbal communication including giving instruction and exchanging information with necessary detail and delivery - Hearing:
Communication including listening to people convey instructions or conversation, and distinguishing noises from machines and within the plant
