Overview
The Utah State Hospital is seeking to hire a full-time employee to prepare and serve food for both patients and employees at the Utah State Hospital campus. The successful candidate will be a positive addition to the team and capable of preparing and serving over 1200 daily meals to patients and staff. The schedule after training is complete will be Sunday 6:30am-3:00pm, Monday-Tuesday OFF, Wednesday-Saturday 6:00am-3:00pm.
Responsibilities- Prepare and serve meals for patients and staff (over 1200 daily).
- Follow the posted schedule after training:
Sunday 6:30am–3:00pm;
Wednesday–Saturday 6:00am–3:00pm;
Monday–Tuesday off. - Support a positive team environment and adapt to daily operational needs.
- Have a food handler’s permit or Serv Safe certificate.
- Have experience cooking in an institutional environment.
- Have experience preparing and setting up for catered events.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Be able to cheerfully adapt to unforeseen changes, such as staffing needs and menu adaptations.
- May help in maintaining food storage areas.

- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
