Job Description
FSY endeavors to make the below job description as current and accurate as possible. Nevertheless, you may be responsible to perform other duties that may be assigned to you throughout your employment.
Summer Seasonal Staff
FSY summer seasonal staff play a vital role in contributing to the success of the program. Employment with FSY is contingent upon personal singleness of purpose, which is to help youth and all present at FSY to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, feel joy and belonging in living His gospel, and be empowered to continue having spiritual experiences at home.
We seek young single adults with strong faith in Jesus Christ and in His restored gospel to serve as role models of divine sisterhood and honorable priesthood holders, future missionaries, mothers, fathers, and leaders in the Lord's church and kingdom.
FSY summer staff are religious ministers for the Church who are expected to be disciples of Jesus Christ that believe in, live, and support Church doctrine and teachings.
Payment for FSY summer seasonal staff varies by position.
Responsibilities (for all positions)
* Willingly and responsibly work to promote the physical safety and spiritual well-being of participants attending FSY.
* Help all youth build faith in Jesus Christ and in His restored gospel and create a learning atmosphere where all can recognize and learn by the Spirit.
* Help all youth have a positive and uplifting experience.
* Handle youth disciplinary situations with sensitivity as needed and directed, and in consultation with supervisory staff.
* Act as an exemplary leader, role model, and mentor for youth participants and fellow staff members.
* Read, study, and understand the FSY Staff Handbook prior to the first assigned week and continue studying throughout the summer.
* Complete all required trainings. These include online training and in-person training in Utah.
* Read, understand, abide by, and (where applicable) help enforce all FSY policies, as updated from time to time.
* Whether or not youth are present, honor and model the youth conduct standards as outlined in Conduct at Church Activities - FSY Conferences. With kindness and sensitivity, help enforce the youth conduct standards.
* Be energized and actively engaged, participate in activities-such as dancing, working in crowded and loud environments, playing physically demanding games, walking long distances in locations where it's necessary to navigate hills and stairs in multi-storied buildings-and perform all assigned duties.
* FSY engages youth from early in the morning to late at night in activities that can be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically demanding for FSY summer staff. At all times, be responsible to interact positively with, teach, accompany, and supervise youth for extended periods of time, maintaining the mental and physical well-being and emotional stability necessary to help all participants, including in stressful situations.
* Understand and respond to youth participants' and colleagues' words, actions, and nonverbal communication in ways that help youth participants have a positive and uplifting experience.
* Respond in kind and helpful ways that protect youth safety and well-being when youth participants have needs, including during the night.

* Have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and of His restored gospel and be willing to share it through words and actions.
* Be fully supportive of the doctrine, practices, and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
* Accept as a condition of employment the holding of, and being worthy to hold, a temple recommend. This includes authorizing all questions to, discussions with, and disclosures by, the prospective employee's ecclesiastical leaders that pertain to the Church Ecclesiastical Clearance Office clearance process for new hires, as the process is updated from time to time.
* Understand and be able to honor and model the youth conduct standards as outlined in Conduct at Church Activities - FSY Conferences.

* Please note that the employer is not offering employment with FSY as an internship, work experience, OPT, or any other visa-related opportunity and will not be able to provide visa sponsorship for this position in the United States of America. Simply having a passport does not of itself constitute authorization to work.
* Complete all online training and complete in-person training in Utah…
