Administrative & Instructional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate attendance records; post in portal and submit roster to Academic Department on time
- Assign grades and keep student/course records per FERPA; submit by deadlines
- Contact students who miss lab, SCE, or clinical sessions or show disengagement
- Follow Academic Freedom policy per Faculty Handbook
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Program Administrator, Lead Instructor, or Academic Dean
- Collaborate with instructors to prepare, administer, and grade exams; assist with final course evaluations
- Ensure timely submission of class attendance and grades
- Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives
- Plan and conduct orientation for new faculty (theory and clinical)
- Apply adult learning principles in teaching
- Continuously improve instructional quality
- Use or learn online tools to enhance course content and interactive teaching
- Maintain records of attendance, skills check-offs, and assist with program data collection
- Submit required program reports/forms to Director on time
- Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations
- Participate in program committees and faculty meetings
- Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned facilities
- Evaluate clinical performance based on learning outcomes and department policies
- Provide immediate feedback after observing clinical performance
- Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs
- Determine optimal methods to observe, teach, and evaluate students in clinical settings
- Verify clinical facilities meet all health and safety requirements
- Maintain office hours and provide ongoing communication with students (email, etc.)
- Participate in student advising
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required
- Meet faculty requirements of the state Board of Registered Nursing where employed
- Minimum 3 years acute care experience as an RN
- Demonstrated current knowledge of nursing practice, mentoring ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills
- 1 year of adult nursing instruction experience preferred
- Documented background in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments (e.g., education theory/practice, current clinical experience, specific subject knowledge, or distance education techniques)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools as needed)
- Medical, Dental and Vision starting the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment
- 2 Weeks starting Vacation per year. Increasing based on years of service with company
