Overview of the PositionThe Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the supportability of customer requirements, and inventory turns through supply chain management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review requirements to determine and perform the necessary course of action, including: sourcing, purchasing, expediting, de-expediting, and cancellation.
- Research, recommend, and negotiate best practice procurements.
- Prepare requests for quotes, purchase orders, and purchase order change notices.
- Ensure purchases are compliant with customer flow downs.
- Work closely with vendors to develop and maintain strategic relationships.
- Review necessary data and ensure adequate supportability is maintained.
- Negotiate pricing for best value and strategic wins.
- Resolve issues internally and externally through effective communication.
- Monitor inventory levels and supportability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong database, spreadsheet, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
- Self-starter.
- Strong communication skills.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and/or one year of experience. Aerospace Industry experience a plus.

Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to talk or listen.
- Works in moderate noise levels.
- Minimal travel required.
