Overview of the Position:
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the supportability of customer requirements, and inventory turns through supply chain management.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Review requirements to determine and perform the necessary course of action, including sourcing, purchasing, expediting, de-expediting, and cancellation.
- Research, recommend, and negotiate best practice procurements.
- Prepare requests for quotes, purchase orders, and purchase order change notices.
- Ensure purchases are compliant with customer flow downs.
- Work closely with vendors to develop and maintain strategic relationships.
- Review necessary data and ensure adequate supportability is maintained.
- Negotiate pricing for best value and strategic wins.
- Resolve issues internally and externally through effective communication.
- Monitor inventory levels and supportability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong database, spreadsheet, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
- Self-starter.
- Strong communication skills.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and/or one year of experience. Aerospace Industry experience a plus.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands And Work Environment- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.

- Frequent requirement to talk or listen.
- Works in moderate noise levels.
- Minimal travel required.
