Overview

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Assistant Coach, Club Golf position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the NCAA-DI.

This seasonal position will work with the Head Coach, Club Golf, to lead Brown's men's club golf program and support expansion of recreational golf opportunities on Brown's campus. Responsibilities include presence at practices on and off campus, competition, oversight for safety and risk management, exposure to rules and etiquette of the sport, instruction in skills and technique, and assistance in appropriate conditioning of athletes.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Some prior golf coaching experience, preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal and DMV background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.

Background Check

All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown.

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; duties are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules. Any rules violations should be reported to the compliance office. Coaching staff must receive annual NCAA rules education and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certifications (certification is provided at no cost through the Division).
