Under the supervision of officials responsible for the coordination and accomplishment of facility, plant, and utility maintenance and operation work, perform the duties particular to, and normally required in, the trade of electrician, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work. To maintain the electrical systems and equipment in good repair and working order.
Responsibilities- Possess thorough knowledge of codes pertaining to maintenance and installation of electrical systems.
- Have and maintain a current Journeyman License or Maintenance Electrician License.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Understand the electrical symbols and interpretation of building and electrical prints.
- High school, technical or trade school graduate or equivalent.
- Eight (8) years in electrical trade in maintenance or construction.
- Four (4) years in electrical trade in a medical, research or academic facility.
Physical Requirements:
Electrician must be able to individually lift a minimum of 50 lbs, and be able to, with assistance, move and transport materials and equipment weighing excess of 200 lbs. He/she must be able to work in confined spaces requiring bending or stooping for long periods and be able to work from ladders or elevated platforms. He/she must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
