SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager (or designee), you will implement, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for each patient using a nursing process, aligning with hospital and departmental policies. Your care will run from admission to discharge, incorporating considerations of the aging process across the life span, developmental stages, and cultural patterns. Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care.
- Lead by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing care activities for ancillary personnel.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, families, and community services regarding patient care outcomes and discharge planning.
- Assess and provide appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
- Utilize all available resources to deliver quality, cost‑effective patient care.
- Maintain clinical competencies measured by credentialing standards, mandatory/safety education, and completion of Basic Life Support and ACLS/PALS.
- Identify growth needs and engage in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
- Serve as a role model/preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities for the patient care unit as delegated.
- Fetal Heart credentialing and fetal monitoring credentialing within 6 months of hire.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or under the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
- Current RN licensure in Rhode Island.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care across the life span with consideration of aging processes, developmental stages, and cultural patterns.
Job Requirements
- Current RN license in Rhode Island.
- BSN preferred.
- Certified Wound Nurse preferred (American Board of Wound Management certification, Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) or Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN)).
- Minimum two years clinical experience in medical‑surgical nursing, ambulatory or surgical services in a hospital setting.
- Previous high‑volume clinic experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
- Positive, caring, and customer‑service‑oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status.
- Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients.
- Exposed to patient care environment.
- Ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting, positioning, and pushing patients on stretchers.

- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Vision includes close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Ability to speak and hear clearly.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lean, and squat for long periods.
- Maintain dexterity when pulling, pushing, and gripping carts and stretchers.
- Physically able to perform CPR.
- Perform all physical job duties accurately in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruption.
$34.52 – $58.24 per hour.
