Job Title: Converting Associate/Set-Up

Hours: Monday-Thursday 2pm-12:30am

Department: Production

Reports To: Converting Manager

Job Summary:

The Set-Up Mechanic is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining bag and pouch machines to ensure efficient production operations. This role is critical to achieving our goals of safety, quality, and productivity in our flexible packaging manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Set-Up: Set up bag and pouch machines for production runs. Ensure machines are calibrated and adjusted to the specifications of the job order.
• Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to operate efficiently and the physical condition of machines do not deteriorate.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot machine problems quickly to minimize downtime.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor machine performance and output product quality to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Safety: Follow all safety procedures and protocols and ensure a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensure the quality of product by following area procedures and filling out appropriate documentation records.
• Ensure the safety and legality of product by being aware of and complying with food safety policy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of bag and pouch machine operations and maintenance a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as job specifications, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay:
Up to $24.00 per hour
