Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead and coordinate all maintenance, electrical, and hydraulic engineering activities within our facility. This role ensures maximum operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and protection of company assets. The ideal candidate will develop and enforce maintenance policies and procedures that meet company standards for quality, productivity, and minimal downtime. Additionally, this position focuses on building a high-performing team through training, coaching, and fostering a culture of engagement, empowerment, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular audits of plant equipment to identify needs for installation, service, or repair, ensuring reliability and productivity.
- Execute the Preventive Maintenance Program effectively and consistently.
- Monitor and evaluate outside contractors for quality and timely completion of work.
- Assess technical and troubleshooting skills of maintenance staff; provide training in safety, repair techniques, SOPs, and equipment use in compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
- Manage maintenance personnel schedules and work orders in a cost-effective manner aligned with company standards.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management of maintenance supplies and machine parts.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including catalytic oxidizer operation, sewer discharge, and equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with plant peers to ensure equipment meets regulatory requirements for cleanliness and product safety.
- Promote and enforce safety programs, ensuring all equipment operates safely.
- Support compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act and all company policies related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Actively support and follow Food Safety and Food Defense programs.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Completion of AIB Engineering correspondence and residence courses (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Baking industry knowledge and experience required.
- Solid understanding of commercial bakery equipment and its role in the baking process from an engineering perspective.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate across departments.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
