Data Science Manager
SUMMARY
Reporting to the System Director of Nursing Operations, the Manager of System Clinical Analytics leads the strategic oversight and governance of nursing analytics across all Brown University Health affiliates. This role ensures the integrity, consistency, and usability of clinical data to drive operational excellence, quality improvement, and informed decision‑making. The manager is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise dashboards, translating complex data into actionable insights, and fostering a culture of data‑driven performance across system.
PRINCIPLEDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Oversees the design, validation, and deployment of nursing analytics dashboards and reporting tools across all hospitals. Ensures alignment with system-wide goals and regulatory standards.
Maintains the integrity of all nursing‑related data sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Collaborates interdisciplinary teams to optimize data infrastructure and workflows.
Develops executive‑level summaries and presentations that synthesize clinical and operational data into strategic insights. Advises senior leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities.
Leads system‑wide initiatives to improve nursing operations and patient care outcomes. Monitors integration of best practices and evaluates impact.
Partners with nursing leaders, clinical teams, and operational stakeholders to identify analytics needs and translate them into effective solutions. Facilitates education and adoption of analytics tools.
Conducts comparative studies and benchmarking analyses to identify performance gaps and innovation opportunities. Drives continuous improvement through data transparency and accountability.
Serves as liaison with vendor partners and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of analytics platforms with clinical systems.
QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Care, Health Science, or Data Science required. Masters preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCEMinimum 5 years of experience in clinical analytics, nursing operations, or performance improvement at a system or multi‑affiliate level.
Demonstrated expertise in dashboard development, data visualization, and analytics strategy.
Proficiency in enterprise EHR systems and data tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Visio, Minitab).
Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to influence across levels.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESOversees system‑level analysts and data specialists.
