Job DescriptionThis role is an exciting opportunity to serve as a leader within a diverse and dynamic team committed to transforming public education in the Providence Public School District (PPSD). We are hiring someone who believes in the capacity of all students to achieve at high levels, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders to drive transformative change within and outside of an organization.
The Technology Service Coordinator demonstrates knowledge in the area of computer operations, networking, internet, intranet, client-server operation, and characteristics and capabilities of network communications. They have the ability to apply principles and techniques used in networking architecture including digital phone lines. Familiar with switches, routers, firewalls, VoIP systems, basic IP addressing, and subnet schemes. They are able to manage projects and administer methods of project and process control, budgeting, and cost analysis.
They are informed in the area of technology related grants or revenue sources, such as E-Rate.
We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.

CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND
EXPERIENCE:
- BA or BS degree in general field or IT;
School Certification and/or Associate Degree in an Information Technology major preferred. - Three years of information technology experience in a comparable working environment.
- Experience with K-12 technology and/or E-Rate program management, including applications, auditing & inventory systems, workflow & procedures preferred.
- Experience with the development of inventory & computer specifications and implementation of technology equipment.
- Experience with Help Desk management systems use and operations.
- Knowledge in computer operations, networking, internet, intranet, client-server operation, and characteristics and capabilities of network communications. Ability to apply principles and techniques used in networking architecture including digital phone lines.
- Familiar with switches, routers, firewalls, VoIP systems, Basic IP addressing, and subnet schemes.
