Job Overview
The Director of IT Strategy
-ERP is responsible for providing thought leadership and organizing, creating, and articulating the overall program function and strategy. This role enhances the transformation journey along with creating long‑term planning, building strategic roadmaps, and visions through strategic collaboration and relationships with leadership.
This role is accountable for the successful implementation and strategic alignment of the continued evolution of the ERP program and integrates into the organizational strategy by developing and implementing standards and the IT Strategy approval to project execution.
This role anticipates strategic or culture roadblocks and advises on industry knowledge and best practices to leadership for the continuing on time delivery of the IT transformation journey.
Job Responsibilities Core ResponsibilitiesLead, manage, and consult with multiple Project and Program teams to modernize and right align existing IT Strategy Functions by participating in strategy session with IT leaders and influencing the IT Project team’s outcomes.
Lead the implementation and continued evolution of ERP Strategy by identifying dependencies, areas of opportunity across functions and project timelines, and escalating findings or roadblocks to senior leadership and advising on resolutions and integrating into IT Project and Program teams.
Lead the direction of long‑term planning by influence and advising at the senior leadership levels on project milestones and planning.
Develop and implement project delivery standards, execution, monitoring, control and completion through partnership with senior leaders and consulting with multiple internal teams.
Creates high visibility documentation for senior leaders or board members that articulate the overall IT Strategy, project status, and on‑time delivery.
Advises on financial decisions that may impact business outcomes and contributes to budget alignment.
Foster culture of innovation by proactively identifying opportunities to introduce new tools, technologies, and processes to deliver increased business value, service reliability, and improved delivery execution.
Lead, coach and develop talent through goal setting, development plans, feedback and other talent support measures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, or equivalent work‑related experience required.
- PMP preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in IT project and program management.
- 8+ years’ experience in managing strategic roadmaps.
- Direct experience leading teams and with talent development.
- Strong leadership and project management skills; experience organizing, planning, and executing large‑scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal and external resources.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic skill set.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to work in a fast‑paced, continuously changing environment.
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguous situations and deliver high‑quality results.
- Highly motivated and self‑driven, ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and influence at all management levels and with both technical and non‑technical individuals and successfully manage in a cross‑functional environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.
- Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
The position is predominantly remote, requiring in‑office attendance on an occasional basis each month.
- Most work is performed in a temperature‑controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
