EY invites you to apply for the Databricks Data Engineer - Senior role. In this position you will design, build, and operate scalable analytics solutions that deliver significant business value using Databricks and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and operate scalable data architecture on-premises or in the cloud.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimize data flows for target platform designs.
- Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions using Databricks on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Collaborate with clients to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Lead end-to-end data pipeline development, including ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Manage client relationships and expectations to ensure high satisfaction.
- Stay updated on trends in data engineering and cloud computing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of data engineering experience focused on cloud solutions.
- Expertise in Databricks and Spark for big data processing.
- Proven experience with at least two end‑to‑end data engineering implementations (data lake, real‑time pipeline).
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or SQL.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client management.
- Strategic thinking, project management, stakeholder engagement, change and risk management, technical leadership, and documentation/reporting capabilities.
- Ideally: data quality management, semantic layers, cloud platform familiarity, data governance/compliance, machine learning tools knowledge.
- Base salary range: $106,900 – $176,500 (US); $128,400 – $200,600 (New York City, Washington, CA).

- Hybrid work model: 40‑60% in‑office for client roles.
