Job Summary: Provides patient advocacy by modeling standards of performance and communicating with patients to meet their service needs. Assists registered nurses with direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment through observation, interaction, and group activities.
This position primarily covers 1:1 and/or designated acuity shifts on inpatient units. When no acuity needs are present, the employee will be reabsorbed into the float pool to cover other hospital needs.
Specifications: Bachelor's degree in social sciences preferred; comparable behavioral health experience may substitute for the degree.
Experience working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
Excellent written and communication skills.
CNA preferred: 2% pay differential available for active CNA license holders.
Schedule: 20/40 part-time nights, every other weekend.
