Our comprehensive team provides support and programming to create a treatment plan that optimally suits each client in their eating recovery, with options that include nutritional therapy, CBT, DBT, and more.
The RN will function as a member of a larger multidisciplinary treatment team. They will work closely with clients in both a medical and experiential capacity in order to carry out interventions on their treatment plans. The Nurse specializes in working with clients with eating disorders, is thoughtful, sensitive, respectful, flexible, and brings a loving, positive attitude to our expert Clinical Team.
PrimaryResponsibilities Include:
- Provide direct nursing care, including monitoring patient physical and emotional health, conducting health assessments, and taking vital signs and blind weights.
- Act as the primary nursing point of contact for the IOP and PHP, coordinating patient care decisions and interventions as directed by the medical director.
- Take lead on medical management of patient care including crisis intervention and addressing any urgent medical issues.
- Provide education to patients on health issues related to eating disorders, including physical health monitoring, self-care strategies, and how to manage symptoms.
- Responsible for collecting outcome measures for treatment compliance
- Distribute and track discharge client satisfaction and feedback survey
- Ensure patients are adhering to their treatment plans and provide support for their recovery journey.
- Handle logistical and administrative tasks related to patient care, such as scheduling in-house medical appointments, ensuring timely interventions, and managing patient records.
- Participate in case review meetings, providing input on patient progress and adjustments to medical care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team (medical, psychological, and nutritional) to addressed comprehensively.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- 2+ years of nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in mental health, eating disorders, or related fields.
- Knowledge of eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating, as well as the medical complications associated with them.
- Ability to manage patient care independently, with minimal supervision, in a clinical outpatient setting.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills to balance multiple patient needs and program coordination tasks. - Comfort with crisis management and the ability to maintain calm in stressful situations.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional certifications in mental health nursing are a plus.
