Behavioral Therapist

Hope Coast ABA is a clinician-owned and operated organization dedicated to providing individualized, high-quality, assent-based ABA services to children diagnosed with autism. Positions are available for on-site roles in our new center, just 10 minutes from downtown Providence. Our Behavioral Therapists will support children with autism in achieving developmental milestones and behavioral goals using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Responsibilities include implementing customized treatment plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with other team members to ensure effective care. This role requires patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children in a dynamic and supportive environment.

• Provide direct 1:1 therapy to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) ages 2-21 in clinic and home settings.
• Implement skill acquisition goals and behavior reduction plans as directed by the BCBA supervisor.
• Complete session notes accurately in a timely manner
• Collect ongoing data on skill acquisition goals and behavior reduction targets as directed by the BCBA supervisor.
• Complete all trainings successfully, demonstrating comprehension and competency in all areas
• Immediately report any concerns about the patient’s treatment, changes in the patient’s behavior, or safety concerns if they arise
• Assist with clinical assessments under the direction of a BCBA supervisor and other administrative duties.
• Support clients with activities of daily living as needed to ensure health and safety, including toileting, diapering, and feeding
• Maintain professionalism in communication and collaborate effectively with others
• Adhere to the RBT Ethics Code and HIPAA/confidentiality requirements.

• Must be at least 19 years of age; have a high-school degree or equivalent, and two years of supervised experience working with children with special health care needs OR
• Must have an Associate’s degree in human services OR
• Must be currently enrolled in not less than six (6) semester hours of relevant undergraduate coursework at an accredited college or university

• Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, sit, walk, push, pull, run and be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills, including effective communication, compassion, and the ability to build relationships with children and families
• Flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team setting
• Must successfully pass BCI and CANTs screenings.

• Proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and Behavior Analysis techniques
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is beneficial
• Prior experience in early intervention or play-based therapy is a plus
