Position Overview
Housekeeping Aide at Brown University Health. The role involves a variety of light to moderate cleaning duties to maintain the hospital and complex in an orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition for patients, personnel, and visitors.
Responsibilities- Operate floor care and cleaning equipment, including dust mops, damp mops, vacuums, and host dry systems.
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, furniture, windowsills, blinds, shades, countertops, doors, lights, vents, walls, hung items, mirrors, glass, wastebaskets, vinyl chairs, and all surfaces from top to bottom.
- Wash and disinfect sinks, toilets, urinals, bedpan racks, bathtubs, showers, and restock soap and paper dispensers.
- Clean and disinfect beds, mattresses, sleeping carts throughout the complex.
- Remove rubbish and soiled linen, depositing in the down chute or rubbish truck.
- Buff and polish floors in rooms and corridors using manual or motorized devices.
- Push and pull equipment, carry linen inventory, and assist with radiation room preparation as needed.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor or group leader.
- Ability to follow instruction and observe safety precautions.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning solutions, equipment, and safety.
- Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- At least one to three months of on-the-job and classroom training.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, push, stoop, lift, and work on stairs, ladders, and elevators.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, unpleasant odors, and potential hazards from improperly disposed needles and glass. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
Compensation$19.17 per hour.

Work ScheduleEvening shift: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; 3:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. on weekend and holidays.
