Position: Sr Research Assistant FT Days
Primary Function

Supervises and is responsible for data collection and analysis for assigned studies. Manages daily activities of a research project.

Responsibilities
  • Follow study protocols regarding patient care issues.
  • Implement procedures needed to achieve project goals.
  • Train and supervise staff on tasks or projects.
  • Provide progress reports to supervisor.
  • Recruit subjects for research studies.
  • Carry out data collection and analysis as assigned by the principal investigator and project director.
  • Safeguard the rights and confidentiality of human subjects.
  • Handle data collection, coding, processing, and analysis under supervision.
  • Draft reports as needed.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the research project.
  • Establish and maintain systems for tracking subject follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare slides, graphs, and visual presentations for conferences.
  • Use and maintain research systems according to procedures.
  • Register patients in the hospital information system for download.
  • Schedule appointments with appropriate coding.
  • Assign correct service codes for billing.
  • Maintain provider schedules.
  • Generate reports from the system as needed.
  • Follow risk management, infection control, and safety policies.
  • Attend required training and education sessions.
  • Follow hospital policies, principles, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to Butler Hospital’s service standards.
Qualifications
  • Education: MA/MS in behavioral sciences or related fields; BA/BS with relevant experience also acceptable.
  • Experience: Minimum six months in psychiatric/substance abuse or related research; managing people skills preferred.
Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.

Organization

Part of Care New England Health System, including Butler Hospital and other affiliates, engaged in medical research and healthcare services.
